KettleSpace, Inc. (the “Company”) is committed to protecting your privacy. You are important to us, and we will take special care to maintain your trust. In order to fully understand your rights, we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy.

When does the Company collect my personal information?
The Company gathers information from Account holders and visitors in the following ways: voluntary registration during the Single Sign-On (SSO) process, cookie technology, IP addresses, and location data.

1. Registration. The only explicitly identifying information we collect about you is your NYU NetID. This NetID is provided to us after you successfully log in to our app via the university's SSO system. No other explicit personal information about you is stored, requested, or required to enter our Spaces.

2. Cookies. We use cookies to store and track your in-app and in-space preferences to provide you with a more personalized experience. A cookie is a message sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your device's hard drive. You can set your browser preferences to reject all cookies, but this will prevent you from using most customized services, and you may have to repeatedly enter personal information in order to participate in various services or promotions. Cookies make your experience easier by saving your preferences and passwords. We also use cookies that contain no personal information at all. These cookies help us estimate our audience size and determine which areas of the Website are the most popular. For more information about how cookies may affect your privacy, please visit

3. IP Address. We may log IP addresses for the purposes of systems administration, student experience improvement, or to report information in aggregate for internal and University use only (for example, to identify how many visitors logged in to our Website). We do not provide any non-University third parties access to this information.

4. Reservation Communications. If you book, modify, or cancel a reservation through the Website, we will send you an email confirming the details of such actions.

5. Compliance with Legal Process. The Company may need to disclose your personal information when required by subpoena or other legal process, or if the Company has a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to: (a) investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies; (b) to investigate and defend the Company against any third party claims or allegations, or to protect the security or integrity of the Website; and (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the Company and its members, employees, contractors, or others.

What are my options to control the use of my personal information?
Most browsers and mobile devices can be configured to reject cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. You may request the removal of your personal information from our records by sending e-mail to We will send an email to confirm your request. After you respond, we will remove your information from our database. Residual information may remain in our archives and records, but this information will not be used for a commercial purpose (however we may notify you of major changes to our service from time to time). We reserve the right to maintain information on registered users who have violated the Neighborhood Study Spaces Terms of Service or who have had their access to the Website blocked in order to detect repeat offenders.

What else should I know about my privacy?
You should be aware that if you voluntarily disclose personal information online in a public area, that information might be collected and used by others. We do not control the actions of our visitors and registered members. Please remember that protection of your privacy begins with you. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any password you use to register, and you should always be careful and responsible whenever disclosing information online. The Website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. When you place orders or access your account information, we use a secure server. The single sign on process (SSO) means that we do not store your account credentials on our systems; rather, these credentials exist on NYU systems. The secure server layer (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. All of the data we collect is similarly protected against unauthorized access. The Company will not share your personal information with third parties unless you have consented to the disclosure or the disclosure is necessary to (1) comply with the law or with legal process, (2) protect and defend our rights and property, (3) protect our customers or users from misuse or unauthorized use of the App, or (4) protect the personal safety or property of our customers or the public.
